Distinguished Leadership Awards

CLAS IS NOW TWO NEW COLLEGES

CLAS has transitioned into the College of Science and the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences.

Thank you for your patience as we sunset this website over the 23-24 academic year.

The Dean’s Office of the Colleges, together with the College Alumni Council, hosts its annual Distinguished Leadership Awards to recognize the achievements of its students, alumni, faculty and staff—and the many contributions of other individuals who have worked to make the Colleges strong. The award ceremony has been paused for the 2023-2024 academic year, but nominations are still encouraged.

Both College communities are focused on learning, teaching, research, and engagement, with a mission to inspire thinking and transform lives through discovery, innovation, and global connections. This ceremony honors those who reflect these qualities in their activities. Read more about the breadth and depth of the College.

For 2023, the inaugural year, the College Alumni Council used a combination of criteria that reviewed each honoree’s professional accomplishments, community and civic involvement, and dedication. It then made recommendations to the dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (now CHESS). Honorees who currently reside within the College have also received commendation from their respective department chairs.
