
Lynn Roberson joined the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences as communications director in 2011 after two years as communications director for the UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Office. Previously, she served as executive director for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Partnerships Office and its Public Schools Foundation, led marketing for a Charlotte information technology company and directed external relations and public policy research for BellSouth and AT&T in North Carolina. She has served on boards including Communities in Schools of North Carolina, the Public School Forum of North Carolina, the North Carolina Business Committee for Education, the Winston-Salem State University Foundation, and several chambers of commerce. She was an award-winning reporter for newspapers in the Carolinas, covering education, government, crime and courts, business and other beats. She earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from UNC-Chapel Hill and has completed leadership courses including Leadership North Carolina, Southern Leaders of the 21st Century and Southern Women in Public Service. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and its Charlotte chapter and a member of the National Association of Science Writers.
